Privacy Policy for StrangerVoice
Effective and last updated: August 10, 2026
1. About StrangerVoice
StrangerVoice is an anonymous, one-to-one voice-chat service operated by A AND J Tech. It matches adults with strangers for live conversations. Conversations are user-generated and are not monitored or moderated in real time.
2. Information We Collect
- Account data: A username, a salted password hash, an internal account identifier, account creation time, and last-login time. We do not need your real name, email address, phone number, profile photo, or social profile.
- Call and safety metadata: Internal participant and session identifiers, queue and connection events, call start/end times and duration, connection state, blocks, and reports. We do not record or store the audio from calls.
- Technical and diagnostic data: IP address and server request logs, device and operating-system information, app version, performance/error details, and basic usage events needed to operate, secure, and improve the service.
- Advertising and purchase data: Ad interactions, advertising identifiers or device signals made available by your platform, and subscription or purchase status. Payment card details are handled by Google Play and are not provided to us.
- Local data: Authentication tokens, settings, country preference, and similar app state stored on your device.
3. Voice and Message Content
Voice is transmitted live between call participants using WebRTC and is not recorded or retained by StrangerVoice. Text sent during a live session is transmitted to the other participant and is not used to build a public profile. Other participants can still hear, copy, or independently record what you share, so do not disclose sensitive personal information.
4. How We Use Information
- Create and secure accounts and authenticate users
- Match users and establish live voice and text sessions
- Operate subscriptions, advertising, and daily usage limits
- Investigate reports, prevent abuse, and enforce our Terms of Service
- Monitor reliability, diagnose crashes and errors, and improve the service
- Comply with legal obligations and valid legal requests
We do not sell personal information or use voice conversations for advertising.
5. Service Providers
We share only the information needed for these providers to perform their services:
- Railway and PostgreSQL: Application hosting, database storage, and operational logs.
- Google Play: App distribution, subscriptions, purchase validation, and platform security.
- Google Mobile Ads (AdMob): Advertising delivery, measurement, fraud prevention, and related device signals.
- WebRTC and internet infrastructure providers: Real-time encrypted media transport and network connectivity.
The current Android release does not send reports to Firebase Crashlytics; its Crashlytics integration is disabled. If we enable a new analytics or crash-reporting processor, we will update this policy and the Play Store Data safety disclosure before collecting that data.
6. Retention and Deletion
- Account records are kept while your account is active and deleted or de-identified after a valid deletion request, except where retention is required for security, fraud prevention, or law.
- Call and connection metadata is retained for up to 30 days unless it is associated with a safety report or legal obligation.
- Security, server, and error logs are normally retained for up to 90 days.
- Voice audio is not recorded or retained by StrangerVoice.
- Data stored locally can be removed by clearing app data or uninstalling the app.
- Google Play and AdMob retain information under their own policies and controls.
To request access, correction, or deletion, email [email protected] from an address where we can respond and include your StrangerVoice username. We may need to verify control of the account before acting on a request.
7. Security and International Processing
We use TLS for data in transit, salted password hashing, access controls, and other reasonable safeguards. No system is completely secure. Our service and providers may process data in the United States and other countries where they operate.
8. Adults Only
StrangerVoice is for people aged 18 and older. Although stores may display a Mature 17+ content rating, that rating describes content suitability and does not lower our minimum age. We do not knowingly allow or collect account data from anyone under 18. Contact us if you believe a minor has created an account.
9. Your Choices and Rights
- End a call, block a user, or report inappropriate conduct at any time
- Reset the Android advertising identifier or limit ad personalization in device settings
- Manage or cancel subscriptions through Google Play
- Request access, correction, or deletion where applicable law provides those rights
- Complain to your local data-protection authority where applicable
10. Changes and Contact
We may update this policy as the service changes. The date above identifies the current version. Material changes will be communicated through the app or website when appropriate.
